Hale PET Felt Stack Chair Designed by Ivan Kasner + De Vorm

The design of Hale was inspired by the classic school chair. Simple, functional, no-nonsense. These principles are not only reflected in the way it looks, but also in how it’s made. The seat and the back of the chair are produced from PET Felt, recycled plastic bottles. This technology brought many traditional production steps to one smart 3D pressing technique. Hale is the outcome of De Vorm’s collaboration with Ivan Kasner. The shared values resulted in a product that is beautiful in its simplicity. Its fully customisable design allows for a wide range of applications in interior projects.

Hale chair is fully customisable

Go ahead and create your own Hale. The seat and the back are available in eleven unique PET Felt blends. Choose any RAL colour for the frame to complement the look. Designed by Ivan Kasner + De Vorm

Hale is the outcome of De Vorm’s collaboration with Ivan Kasner. Ivan Kasner is an Amsterdam-based designer and the founder of Ivan Kasner Studio. His approach is based on the idea that each generation deserves its own decor: products enabling people to feel at home in their own time. Together with a team of creatives, Ivan works for different international well-known brands within the world of product- and interior design.
 

PET Felt Technology: From Bottle to Chair

The seat and back of Hale chair are made from PET Felt - a sustainable and durable material manufactured from recycled plastic bottles.

PET Felt is a soft, though strong material with a great acoustic performance. It is both recycled and recyclable. With Hale, De Vorm took another step forward in this technology, turning the previous three-stage process into a single moulding action. The new approach allows pressing PET Felt into any imaginable ready-to-assemble form with distinction in thickness. Granting Hale chair its elegant curves, ergonomic shape and soft texture.
