LJ 1 is a generous armchair, recognised by its slim lines and multi-functional design. The chair provides an ergonomically curved seat and back support for outstanding seating experience. LJ 1 is made from PET Felt and recycled high-strength steel, making it a durable and sustainable piece of furniture. The frame is made from 78.8% recycled steel content, further enhancing its sustainable profile. It is a universal armchair for commercial interiors, such as office, hospitality and educational projects.

LJ 1 armchair is fully customisable. Choose from eleven unique PET Felt colour blends for the seat. Combine it with a frame in any preferred RAL colour. The upholstered seat is also available as a custom option.

Laurens van Wieringen is the Amsterdam-based designer, who runs his own studio since 2013. Working in various branches, he specializes in product and interior design. Laurens van Wieringen applies smart solutions and techniques from several fields to achieve the exceptional quality of his designs. Together with De Vorm, Laurens developed several successful product series - LJ chairs, Florian and LW lamps.
 

PET Felt technology: from bottle to chair

In our design and production processes, we are always looking at where environmental thinking and economic improvement intersect, resulting in minimal waste. The way we utilise PET emphasizes this vision. 

The seat of the LJ 1 is made from recycled plastic bottles. PET Felt technology transforms the labour-intensive production into a single smart 3D pressing technique. PET Felt is recycled and recyclable, offering great comfort and sustainability.
