LJ 1's shell is made from PET felt, a durable material produced from recycled plastic bottles. Soft yet strong, with natural sound-dampening properties. De Vorm's single-mould pressing technique shapes the PET felt into a ready-to-assemble form, replacing multiple traditional production steps with one. The result is an ergonomically curved shell with varying thickness and a distinctive felt texture.

LJ 1 is the result of De Vorm's long-standing collaboration with Laurens van Wieringen. Laurens is an Amsterdam-based designer who has run his own studio since 2013.
