Introduction

Mute Fraction draws on the study of architectural proportions. The arrhythmic pattern of unequal flat segments divided by parallel ribs follows optimal ratios, allowing the panel to be split into fractions and continued endlessly. Install horizontally or vertically, divide into segments of varying sizes, and fit any surface. Made from PET felt with effective sound-absorbing properties. Available in 11 colours for offices, public spaces, and commercial interiors where balanced visual expression meets acoustic performance.

The sculptural surface breaks up sound reflections, absorbing soundwaves of different frequencies. Suitable for both enclosed rooms and large open spaces. Whether covering a single feature wall or wrapping an entire room, Mute Fraction maintains visual harmony at any scale. Combine with other Mute variants to introduce contrast in texture and depth.

11 PET Felt Colours

Eleven unique PET felt blends, each with its own texture and depth. Minor colour variations between batches are a natural result of the recycled content in the material.

Acoustic Performance

Good acoustics start with the right setup. The results below show how mounting method affects performance, so you can choose what works best for your space.

Direct on wall

Direct on wall

The simplest installation. Mount the panel flush to the wall for a reliable acoustic result. A good starting point for spaces where installation depth is limited.

50mm cavity

50mm cavity

Add a 50 mm air gap behind the panel and performance improves noticeably. The cavity gives sound waves more room to dissipate.

50mm + rockwool

50mm + rockwool

Fill that same cavity with rockwool and the panel reaches its peak performance. PET felt, air gap, and infill work together for maximum sound absorption without adding bulk to the wall.

Information

Mute Fraction's proportional pattern can be divided into segments of varying sizes while maintaining visual balance. The panels can be cut to size on site and installed horizontally or vertically depending on your design.
